On Guy Fawkes Night, 5th of November it made me think about fireworks and how much of an explosion of colours can be seen in the night sky. It also made me think about Justin Mortimer and how he uses balloons as a devise to create an abstract form if seen up close in his paintings. I thought that these ink drawings could create an abstract element in future paintings.

These photographs were taken form New Years Eve in Czech Republic. The scale of the paper is a bit bigger than A5. It was a really fun exercise to draw the night sky with big explosions. I wanted to draw green fire works, and I was searching for a photograph but there wasn’t any. I then read later that green is the hardest colour to replicate in fireworks.
