Near Mario camp is the Hope Project. I really love this project because it empowers refugees. It is a space where people can be creative with painting, performance and music. The paintings are for sale, with 85% of the profit going back to the artists. The 15% then goes back into buying further supplies. It really does give hope that there is a brighter future and that in this moment it is a creative environment.
The founders are the Kempsons who have been living in Lesvos, Greece since 2000.
The project is run by the people of Mario camp and the Kemptons oversee the project.
The paintings are on all the walls and are for sale. It really is a place of great energy, creativity, calm and collaboration.
